| Description: | Smithton R-VI School District has an opening and is taking applications for a High School Math teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Daily responsibilities include preparation of engaging lessons for Pre-Algebra and Algebra. The teacher will maintain a culture of high expectations and provide high levels of support, enhance teacher/student relationships and ultimately improve a math program in conjunction with the other district math teachers. Additional expectations include timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents while encouraging lifelong learning. Strong communication skills, being student centered, and having a positive, team player attitude are important characteristics. Knowledge of Lumen SIS, NWEA, PBIS strategies and the google platform are desired but not required. Smithton is a wonderful small rural school 7 miles east of Sedalia full of great students and staff with a true family atmosphere. We have approximately 540 students in grades K-12 all in one building. We offer board paid insurance and a competitive salary. Extracurricular sponsor opportunities are also available and encouraged.
