| Description: | Smithton R-VI School District is taking applications for a JH ELA teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Daily responsibilities include preparation of engaging lessons for multiple sections in grades 7-8 with a goal of no more than 3 preps. The teacher will maintain a culture of high expectations and provide high support to those who need it, enhance teacher/student relationships and ultimately improve an ELA program in conjunction with the other district ELA teachers. Additional expectations include timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents, encouraging lifelong learning. Strong communication skills, being student centered, and having a positive, encouraging team player attitude are important characteristics. Knowledge of Lumen Student Information Systems, NWEA, PBIS strategies and the google platform are desired but not required. Smithton is a wonderful small rural school 7 miles east of Sedalia full of great students and staff with a true family atmosphere. We have approximately 530 students in grades K-12 all in one building. We offer board paid insurance and a competitive salary. Extracurricular sponsor opportunities are also available and encouraged. | |
