Description:  The Fordland R-III School District is accepting applications for a Title I Reading Interventionist position for the 2021-22 school year. Applicants must possess appropriate Missouri DESE certification. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate should be capable of being a team member willing to work hard to help increase academic achievement, be energetic, and show a high level of enthusiasm. Relationships, relevance, and student success is the key focus of Fordland Elementary School. The application is at https://fordland.tedk12.com/hire/Index.aspx General Description: The role of the Title I Reading Interventionist is to assist students who have been identified as at-risk with reading intervention to provide a continuum of support and help them perform on grade level. The interventionist develops material and lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction and evaluates and assesses student performance. The interventionist meets with parents, interprets student progress, and informs parents/guardians about student strengths, weaknesses, and progress. Lastly, the interventionist collaborates with identified teachers who share the at-risk students served and develops a transition plan between the intervention classroom and the regular classroom. If appropriate, the interventionist will provide professional development on mathematical practices. Qualifications: 1. BA/BS degree in Elementary Education. 2. Demonstrated teaching skills, at least 3-5 years of experience is preferred. 3. Demonstrated collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and parents. 4. Background/knowledge in reading/intervention strategies/Research-Based Instructional Strategies. 5. Ability to work with students with various academic needs 6. Experience with balanced literacy is preferred.
