| Description: | PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES Responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, and evaluating student progress toward learning goals. Accountable for creating a positive and productive classroom learning environment. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and tutor. Engaging the learner through novel and insightful approaches to Math instruction. Implementation of Junior High Math curriculum. Communicate effectively with parents on student comprehension and progress. Support the Jr. High School building improvement plan. Participate in District and Building Professional Development opportunities. EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED MMissouri certification in Math at the 7-8 grade level. Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) and/or desire to learn Response to Intervention. Must have a solid understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and best practice instructional strategies. Must have a strong knowledge of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). Experiences in middle school instruction a plus. Capacity to collaborate effectively with peers. Willingness to understand and support the District’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education. | |
