| Description: | The Phelps County R-III School District has an opening for the 2023-24 school year for a School Nurse. Phelps County R-III operates on a 4 day school week, Tuesday through Friday with K-8 enrollment of 180 students. Candidates must have current Missouri nursing license (RN or LPN), CPR certification, AED certification, and first aid training. The school nurse is responsible for assessing the health needs of students; developing emergency care plans and individual health plans, incorporating input from parent and/or physician; complying with the laws relating to student health, including parental and guardian consent; providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured students; providing health information and serving as a resource to parents, teachers, staff, and administrators; and identifying health problems for referral for proper treatment; monitoring immunization status of students, performing vision/hearing and other screenings, administration of medications, treatment of minor health problems as well as managing the care of students with chronic health problems and coordinating health fairs and wellness events for students and staff.
