Description:  The Kingston K-14 School District is looking for an outstanding individual to fill a Preschool teaching position for the 2023-2024 school year. Reports to: Primary Principal The ideal candidate: must hold a Missouri Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood l Education demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and energy, be capable of working as part of a grade-level and building team, be willing to work hard to help increase academic achievement. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superiors. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Strives to implement through instruction and action the district's philosophy of education, curriculum, instructional goals, and objectives. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned. Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students. Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others. Provides for his or her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning. Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Other duties as assigned by the building principal. The district reserves the right to close the application process once suitable candidates have applied or until a suitable candidate has been hired.
