Description:  The Valley R-VI School District is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time (approximately 15 hours/5days weekly) position of Special Education one on one paraprofessional for the 2022-2023 school year. Applicants must have 60 college hours & be eligible for or hold a substitute certificate. A non-certified application, as well as instructions for applying, can be found on the District website at www.valleyschooldistrict.org. Position requirements: The paraprofessional will adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations that concern their position. The paraprofessional will also abide by all rules and regulations established by the Valley R-VI Board of Education. The paraprofessional is under the supervision of the building principal, the teacher to who she/he is assigned, and the special education director.  Provide instructional reinforcement under the direction of the classroom teacher in executing lesson plans to assigned student. Serve as a positive, nurturing guide for said student.  Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community, following and upholding school rules and standards. Safely supervise assigned student in both instructional and assessment activities in and out of the classroom.  Participate in planning sessions with the learning team, communicating with parents and school officials as needed. Co-teach lesson components as determined by the teacher, with assigned student, individual instruction and discussion, and reviewing classwork material.
