| Description: | The Union R-XI School District is a progressive school district in the heart of Franklin County. As the county seat, Union is home to almost 3,100 PreK-12 students with over 400 employees. The mission of the Union R-XI School District is to provide a diverse education through leading, learning, and serving. Currently, grades 3-12 are 1:1 with Chromebooks and technology is an integral part of student learning. The work we are doing in our district has been recognized both across the United States as well as internationally. All of our elementary schools are Leader in Me schools and we have a robust K-12 STEM/PLTW program that provides our students relevant and hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, we offer our students a wide-range of extra-curricular opportunities to complement our academic programs and maintain a high level of competitiveness with districts across the state. | Other Information: | Per Board policy GCBA, a maximum of 21 years of experience (with proper certification) may be
transferred from another elementary or secondary accredited system. The highest step a teacher may enter the district at is step 22 of the salary schedule. Speech and Language Pathologists that have and maintain their Certificate of Clincal Competence will receive an annual stipend of $2,500.
