Description:  DEAN/DIRECTOR OF SAVANNAH CAMPUS CLASSIFICATION: Administrative, Management, Professional DEPARTMENT: Administration REPORTS TO: President FLSA STATUS: Exempt CONTRACT TERMS: Full-Time, 12 month contract LOCATION: Savannah, MO-Savannah Campus Position Summary: Dean/Director of the Savannah Campus provides leadership, vision, and coordination to support faculty, staff, and students for the Savannah campus while working with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to fulfill the mission of the College. Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to • Oversee daily operations and continued development of the campus with emphases on student recruitment, academic programming, and building use/management. • Work with the VPAA and Academic Affairs team to develop academic programs for Savannah Campus; serve as the hiring supervisor for instructional staff. • Collaboratively with the VPAA, Dean of Instruction and Division Chairs, establish course offerings, course schedules, and monitor course enrollment for each session, and assist in the scheduling of classroom use as needed. • Investigate academic appeals and student complaints. • Assist Academic Affairs with state board and program accreditation requirements and on-site visits. • Collaborate with VPAA, Dean of Instruction, and VP of Student Affairs to ensure that policies and procedures enhance the learning environment, reflecting current student needs and research-based best practices. • Provide administrative support and supervision for Savannah Campus faculty with a focus on academic excellence and student success. • Work with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, the Strategic Enrollment Management committee, and Admissions to develop a recruitment strategy for enrollment; work collaboratively with admissions on recruitment efforts and enrollment measures. • In partnership with the Director of Facilities, monitor physical plant, building codes, requirements, and changes; report expectations for building use and remodel needs. • Collaboratively with the Academic Affairs team, work with the CIO to make sure all IT needs are met, installed, and maintained. • Work with marketing to develop NCMC Savannah Campus marketing materials, campaigns, recruitment pieces, and other aspects related to marketing. • Provide supervision for full and part-time employees of the Savannah Campus including, but not limited to hiring, training, day-to-day supervision, and job development. Work in partnership with supervisors of employees at Savannah Campus to ensure daily operations and marginal functions are performed adequately. • Maintain Savannah Campus department budget and spending allocations. • Support facilitation of college convocation and in-service meetings. • Provide updates and reports about the progress of the Savannah Campus site to the President, Cabinet, Board of Trustees and other groups or individuals as requested. • In partnership with the VPAA and President, establish guidelines, timelines, and strategic goals related to site progress. • Assist visitors, students, and faculty by phone, email, and in person using knowledge of NCMC policies and procedures. • Assist Admissions with student inquiries. • Assist with Orientation, Advising, and Registration (OAR) Days. • Oversee daily operations, including purchasing of supplies. • Maintain room calendars as necessary. • Prepare and track requisitions for purchase, travel, and reimbursement in coordination with the Dean of Instruction and Business Office. • Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and events. • Promote the Savannah Campus through means of region relations, partnerships, and community involvement and develop relationships with key stakeholders in the region • Serve as a regional liaison for NCMC. Represent NCMC at selected meetings and events in the assigned region. • Order textbooks for adjunct faculty and ensure needed materials are on hand. • Work collaboratively with other college departments to assist with processes, procedures, and policies supporting student success. • Stay current with community college best practices by attending trainings, conferences, and state meetings. • Maintain confidentiality when in daily interaction with data and conversations pertaining to the institution. • Maintain communication and collaboration with offices at main campus location. Visit the main campus as needed for meetings, trainings, in-services, committee requirements, and updates. • Provide limited assistance to students for academic and financial aid advising. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree required. Doctorate degree preferred. Experience: Prefer individual who has experience in academics at the college level including distance and on-line learning in a technology-oriented environment. Academic advising, departmental service, and community involvement are important. Must be familiar with business development and aspects of budget and supervision. Skills: Demonstrated competence in use of instructional technology with a commitment to change and innovation. Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Ability to multitask while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and events. Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings; reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk while typing and answering phones; must be able to travel independently. Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while moving on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.
