| Description: | Putnam County R-I School District is seeking candidates for a middle school principal to provide student and adult support through meaningful relationships, high expectations, and excellent communication skills. The principal must demonstrate outstanding instructional and personnel leadership, and practice collaboration and teamwork within the middle school and with the Putnam County R-I District Administrative Team. This leader is also accountable for the efficient operation of the building. The principal will serve as the "Instructional leader" of the middle school (Grades 6-8) and is responsible for the educational programs and services in the school building in accordance with District policies and procedures. In addition, the principal will direct the planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, attendance, and accompanying programs and activities while supporting the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The principal will supervise and evaluate assessment data and curriculum and instruction to ensure best practices in instructional strategies are utilized. This person will provide leadership and supervision of students, staff, and school programs. This leader is responsible for student discipline, supervision, building-level schedules, school climate and culture, staff evaluation, and academic results. The principal will promote and assist with professional development; collaboratively plan/supervise summer school; and other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent. Five years experience in teaching and/or building leadership desired. This building leader should retain (or be eligible for) a DESE-approved Principal Certification.
