| Description: | Putnam County Middle School is currently seeking applicants to fill a teaching vacancy in our Middle School Language Arts Department for the 2024-2025 school year. Qualified candidates will be responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, evaluating student progress, and maintaining classroom management to ensure student engagement and learning. Putnam County R-I Schools are committed to having a positive culture with passionate teachers who make student learning and engagement their top priority. We are proud to call ourselves a professional learning community at PCR-I and provide common planning time for core teachers in grades 6-12 along with high-quality professional development for our staff. Putnam County R-I is a rural district with approximately 140 students in grades 6-8. We are located just south of the Iowa border at the junction of State Highways 5 and 136. Our community is fortunate to have some beautiful scenery whether you choose to live in the country, or at our prestigious Lake Thunderhead. Putnam County has outstanding community support, and it shows in our excellent facilities. PCR-I students are one-to-one with Chromebooks grades 2-12 and all teachers use Google Suite in their classrooms. Coaching and or sponsorship opportunities could be an option with this position if interested. The successful candidate should hold a valid Missouri teacher’s certificate in 6-8 English. The start date for this position is early August 2024. Our 2023-24 base teacher salary was $38,000 with the possibility of a base increase for the 2024-2025 school year.
