| Description: | The Mexico Public School District seeks an outstanding candidate who is communications-centered to serve as a Public Relations Coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with strong communication skills and be dedicated to meeting the needs of the district. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. February 19, 2021 Qualifications: • Associate’s degree in a related field with five years of job related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two years of job related experience • Knowledge of social networking sites and website design • Knowledge of desktop publishing • Knowledge of photography • Be a team player who can serve both as coordinator with delegation skills and someone who can work independently, both while meeting deadlines • Possess journalism/marketing experience Reports To: Superintendent Job Functions: 1. Serve as the key district coordinator for revision of the Communications Plan 2. Coordinate the district social media presence: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and emerging technologies. 3. Serve as district webmaster, making regular and special updates, including Staff Directory, Google, & Website 4. Develop brochures/fliers for various district buildings, departments and events, as needed, with collaboration of principals and counselors. 5. Coordinate MPS presences in staff recruitment job fairs 6. Coordinate all media appearances, interviews and photo shoots of staff. 7. Conduct “Communication with the Public” training for secretaries/CO Staff 8. Create talking points for projects/school reach communications for crisis situations 9. Take necessary photographs for submission to media 10. Coordinate all advertising, display and classified. 11. Handle donation deposits and thank you notes 12. Coordinate the Mexico Public Schools (MPS) United Way Campaign 13. Participate in Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA) as MPS representative 14. Attend school board meetings and produce summary for distribution to staff 15. Coordinate agreements with freelance writers and photographers. 16. Log all fundraising efforts for all schools and keep on Calendar/Calendar. 17. Ensure that everyone fills out form IGDF-AF, even PTO groups 18. Coordinate with Activity Director Secretary staff activity passes/name badges 19. Responsible for A+ mini grants 20. Responsible for keeping the district calendar updated with current activities, meetings etc.. Sending reports to media, calendars for fundraising and field trips. 21. School messenger, schedule and sending out all calls needed to be done for the district in English and Spanish. Keeping the automated calls and list working through School Messenger and SISK12. 22.
