Description:  The Moniteau County R-1 School District (California, MO) is currently accepting applications for a High School Special Education Teacher. This is for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants must possess Missouri Certification in Special Education-Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Disabilities (Grades K-12) and possibly Elementary Certification. Students in special education receive services in a variety of ways, including in the special education setting and/or in the general education setting. In addition, some students may have limited physical mobility, traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities, severe behavioral issues, severe health concerns, or generally be unable to function in a regular classroom setting. Responsibilities include: knowledge of the Special Education process and experience with IEP paperwork, planning and providing direct specially designed instruction to individual and small groups of students, monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction accordingly, data collection, implementing behavior intervention plans, and collaborating with parents, grade level teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to best serve each child.
