| Description: | The Southern Boone School District in Ashland, MO is seeking a Middle School Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Qualifications: A Master’s Degree or higher in Education Administration Appropriate certification is required Building Leadership experience preferred The position is a twelve-month contract and salary will be commensurate with experience. Starting Date - July 1, 2024 Essential Job Functions: Works with the staff in the formulation and execution of high quality education programs that embrace the philosophies of SW-PBIS, PLC, Standards Based Grading, and a positive collaborative working culture. Assumes leadership for providing a continuous program of curriculum and instructional improvement which will align with the District’s Continuous School Improvement Plan. Develops building level policies and procedures to facilitate the delivery of programs, student discipline, and parent and public relations; creates and updates handbooks. Supervises the administration of student attendance, student management, school culture, and extracurricular activity programs. Works with the staff in the development and execution within the building unit of a system-wide program of evaluation and appraisal. Works with the staff in the development, application and supervision to strengthen and grow programs for all children. Ascertains the need for instructional staff specialists in the building unit and directs and supervises their work. Keeps abreast of new educational developments on the local, state and national levels and informs the building staff concerning them. Coordinates faculty meetings and related activities and provides within the framework of the District plan, for continuous programs on in-service education of staff members within the building unit. Has the privilege of and the responsibility for staff appraisal and making recommendations to the central office staff concerning the appointment, retention, promotion and assignment of all professional and non-professional personnel who are under his/her direction. Responsible to the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent for maintaining a procedure for reporting which will provide for effective planning, evaluation and reporting of the results of the educational program. Represents the school within community forums to maintain ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assist with issues related to school environment. Adhere to all Board of Education policies and comply with all other duties assigned. | |
