| Description: | Reports To: Building Principal Education and Experience: Minimum of Bachelor's degree Full Missouri Certification in English/Language Arts at grades 7-8 Multi-certification preferred Essential Job Functions: Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the position Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, ability, and maturity of the students Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides frequent progress communications and grade reports as required Recognizes behaviors and learning difficulties which could indicate the need for special assistance, develops alternative intervention plans for students, and implements strategies to address the special behavioral and learning needs of students Works closely colleagues for the success of all students Attends and participates in faculty meetings, in-service activities, workshops, course-work, seminars, and other activities that promote professional growth and lifelong learning for the teacher Cooperates and collaborates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, assessments, curriculum, and methods Other duties, as assigned Note: This position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
