Description: | The Scott County Central School district is seeking applicants to fill a Family and Consumer Science teaching position (8-12) for the 2024-2025 school year. The Family and Consumer Science teacher should be able to teach students how to manage a home and topics that include nutrition, menu planning, food preparation, clothing care and construction, money management, grooming, consumer awareness, and child development. They may serve as advisers to student organizations, such as Future Homemakers of America or FCCLA. Coaching sports and bus driving opportunities are possible as well. Additionally, they are responsible for providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. | |
Other Information: | Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in the areas of teaching assignment; Valid Missouri Teacher Certificate; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management; Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students.
