Description:  The Junction Hill C-12 School District is actively seeking highly qualified applicants for a K-8 Special Education Teacher and Processing Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. Junction Hill is a growing K-8 district with a current enrollment of 180 students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade. The school is located in South Central Missouri 5 miles east of West Plains, MO on Hwy 160 and 17. You may learn more about Junction Hill by visiting the school website at www.junctionhill.k12.mo.us Successful candidate(s) will possess the ability to actively engage students in the learning process and the ability to provide opportunities for students to achieve their maximum potential. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the IEP process, Professional Learning Communities, Missouri Learning Standards, and Response to Intervention. The successful candidate(s) will also be able to interpret and utilize data to support curriculum decisions and determine effectiveness of instruction. Coordinator of Special Services Qualifications: • Degree – minimum of bachelor’s degree (Masters Degree Preferred) from an accredited institution. • Certificate – Missouri teaching certificate in area of Elem 1-6 and Mild/Mod Cross Categorical K-12. • Experience – prefer experience in classroom teaching as well as special services experience. Primary Functions: To provide a quality instructional program for special services students; to complete teaching duties necessary to the district’s educational program. Specific Duties: Program Operation • Prepares for classroom instruction. • Implements a variety of effective teaching techniques. • Participates in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) which are appropriate to the students’ abilities and needs. • Provides for individual differences. • Tailors instruction to fit the learning objectives identified for special needs students. • Implements instructional objectives effectively. • Demonstrates competent knowledge of subject matter. • Uses a variety of materials. • Uses instructional time effectively. • Communicates effectively with students. • Provides evaluative feedback to students. Classroom Management • Organizes classroom to promote learning. • Manages student behavior constructively. • Provides modifications in discipline policy for BD students as needed through the Individual Education Plan. Interpersonal Relationships • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students. • Demonstrates patience, respect and understanding for students. • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with staff. • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with parents. Professional Responsibilities • Participates in professional growth activities. • Demonstrates initiative and enthusiasm toward work. • Follows the policies and procedures of the school district. • Assists with the identification process of special services students. • Develops diagnostic summaries in the manner established by the district. • Follows special education process and procedure as outlined in the District Compliance Plan. • Provides information needed for all state and federal reports.
