Description:  St. Vincent de Paul Schools is currently searching for an Elementary School Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. An Elementary Education Administrator should be a knowledgeable practicing Catholic who has a thorough understanding of and commitment to the Catholic philosophy of education and the Witness Statement for Those Who Serve in Catholic Education in the St. Louis Archdiocese. An Elementary Education Leader should possess a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Educational Administration and state certification in administration. If an Elementary Education Leader possesses a Master’s Degree in another educational field of study, the Elementary Education Leader must also obtain an additional 20 graduate semester hours in courses related to school administration, curriculum development, supervision, school finance, or related subjects. Consideration will be given to applicants who are working toward required credentials. Preferably, an Elementary Education Leader will have prior teaching experience in Catholic elementary education as well as religious education certification. Elementary Education Administrators The principal is the spiritual and educational leader of the elementary school community and executive secretary of the parish board of education. The highest priority of the principal is the building of a Christian community of faith that provides for the spiritual, moral, intellectual, aesthetical, emotional, social and physical needs of the children in the school. The principal is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school, including: faith formation, curriculum, instruction, assessment, behavior, and safety of students. The principal maintains a collaborative atmosphere with and between the faculty and staff to promote high quality faith formation and academic programs. The principal supports the pastor by following and implementing Archdiocesan guidance and school policies, being a good steward of financial and material resources, ensuring a seamless curriculum throughout the school, helping strengthen the reputation of the school, and cooperating with fund-raising and enrollment management efforts. The principal reports directly to the Head of Schools and is responsible to the local parish board of education. Required Qualifications: -Practicing Catholic in good standing -Master’s Degree and valid Missouri Administrative Certification 9-12 Responsibilities of the Principal include but are not limited to: Articulates and acting in accordance with Gospel values, Philosophy of Catholic Education, Archdiocesan policies related to the religious dimension of the Catholic school, and the school’s mission statement; acts in accordance with Gospel values; participates in building faith communities; takes responsibility for personal and communal spiritual formation opportunities in an effort to build faith communities. Demonstrates effective instructional leadership; implements personnel policies and procedures effectively; provides for effective school operation; engages appropriate members of the school community in designing and implementing plans for the school’s future; maintains school budget; utilizes and manages Title Funds appropriately; implements best practices for a highly rigorous curriculum; manages teacher retention with quality instruction through evaluations. Exhibits cooperation with local school and Archdiocesan administrators; exhibits cooperation with teachers and other colleagues; communicates effectively with and maintains appropriate and positive relationships with students and families; conveys a positive image of the school to the larger community; exhibits effective communication skills. Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility; actively responds to total school needs; engages in continuous professional development.
