Description:  Newtown-Harris R-III is currently accepting applications for the position of Paraprofessional. This position is a one-on-one position for a student with specific physical and educational needs. The position requires some lifting up to 50 pounds and the willingness to learn new equipment and skills. Experience in a care facility or as a care provider is a benefit. Ideal candidate will be available to work Tuesday through Friday from 7:15am to 3:15pm; care and educate student with a personal touch; and document, assess, and communicate directly with staff about student progress and needs. This position would be a great opportunity for someone with a health occupations/education background that wants to provide individualized care over the course of a 4-day work week from August until May. The Newtown-Harris school district is a small, family-oriented community that provides tremendous support. Salary negotiable. A candidate must qualify for the paraprofessional certificate through DESE and have a substitute certificate.
