| Description: | TITLE: Certified Instructional Coach - Elementary REPORTS TO: Building Principal Employment Status: Full Time, Exempt, Certified Teacher Salary Schedule Summary: The Elementary Instructional Coach will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support student learning in all content areas. The Instructional Coach will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction. In order to fulfill these expectations, the Instructional Coach will provide personalized support that is based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers in support of the school improvement action plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Teaches District approved curriculum in all areas of elementary curriculum. 2. Specific knowledge of assigned content area(s) and state assessments. 3. Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues. 4. Work with Administration and Assessment Coordinator to design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps. 5. Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners. 6. Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources. 7. Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom. 8. Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings as required. 9. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. 10. Implement and complete other duties as assigned Certification: Must hold, be eligible for and maintain a valid Missouri teaching certificate in either Early Childhood or Elementary Education or related field. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, operate a computer hand-held device, office equipment, and must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. | |
