Full job description at https://hoganprep.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx Job Title: Community Dean Reports To: Principal FLSA Status: Exempt Contract Days: Twelve-Month JOB GOALS The Community Dean will provide support, coaching, and monitoring of students needing targeted intervention to be successful. They will implement practices that are restorative and trauma-informed. By the end of the 2022-2023 SY, discipline referrals will decrease by 10% and the number of students referred 5 or more times will decrease by 5%. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in creation of intervention protocol for Tier II and III students Collects data on student behavior and records all interventions, consequences, and other relevant information in the student information system Organizes data to present to the cabinet and creatively problem solves to provide a personalized approach to a student’s social emotional needs Provides instructional support to staff for increased student engagement, culturally responsive teaching, and implementation of restorative practices in the learning environment Supervises and evaluates restorative advocate and teachers assigned by supervisor Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with Hogan policy Responds to and resolves family and student conflicts with staff personnel Conducts investigations of sexual misconduct, bullying, etc. with appropriate documentation and follow-up with stakeholders as needed Supervises student conduct and provides feedback on behavior management to students and staff Hosts community circles and mediations as needed to support in conflict resolution and implementation of restorative practices Monitors and attends to attendance concerns and recommends students for truancy Liaison for afterschool activities, community events, and partnerships with organizations within and outside of the Hogan community Works with principal to establish safe and secure learning environment NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or other relevant context Administrative license secondary required, administrative license elementary preferred Master’s degree preferred Understanding and training in trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and student support At least 2 years teaching experience OR 2 years’ experience in a similar field Adept in communication, data collection, and documentation Ability to pass an extensive background check Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding staff and students KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong familiarity with education and a motivation to continue expanding that knowledge base through self-study and interaction with peers. Excellent organizational skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.
