| Description: | The Paris School District is seeking a Parent Educator to contract services for Parents as Teachers. Qualified applicants need to possess a minimum of a two-year associate degree or two-year certificate program in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Nursing AND demonstrated ability in working with young children and their parents as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Candidates may also possess certification and/or a four year degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development. We will consider related degrees such as Social Work. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management skills, telephone skills, and technology skills. Job duties include: Providing outreach to families residing in the school districts. Conducting home visits with families. Being available to schedule visits mornings, afternoons, evenings and some weekend days. Collecting and inputting all data required to show work and progress with enrolled families and their children, prenatal to 4 years of age. Working with community agencies and programs to recruit families within the school boundaries. Providing periodic monitoring and screening to assure that enrolled children do not reach age three with an undetected health problem, handicap or developmental delay. Compensation dependent on education and experience. Currently this is a 9 month position.
