Description:  Fr. Tolton Catholic High School searching for an Athletic & Activities Director. Full-time position starting 2022-23 school year. Athletic & Activities Director will lead by example, contribute to a positive school culture that recognizes social, emotional, athletic, academic needs of all students; be a resource for all students, coaches, sponsors, directors. There are 20 athletic and 14 activity programs. Twelve month position. Responsibilities: Maintain athletic and activity programs that are committed to school’s mission and strategic priorities Oversee daily functions of Athletic & Activity Office including scheduling of all athletic contests, activity events and programs, arrangement of transportation, hiring of game officials and confirmation of supervision at events Support and advocate for activities, extracurricular clubs, and performing arts Ensure compliance with all school, AAA Conference, and MSHSAA policies. Represent the school. Identify and implement risk management strategies for all sports activities, athletics facilities, equipment Organize/communicate practice schedule with coaches, sponsors, and directors Oversee management of school’s athletic facilities; obtain outside facilities if needed Examine playing areas to ensure they are ready for athletic contests Plan, coordinate, supervise summer camp programs with program coaches, sponsors, directors Assign, supervise, and support teachers, sponsors, directors, and outside coaches for full range of athletics and activities Assist hiring outside coaches Collaborate w/Leadership Team & Trailblazer Parent Association (TPA) to ensure efficient communication and operations Communicate w/TPA regarding schedule of events and confirmation of volunteers for gate, concessions, and team store Meet, lead, and supervise athletic and activity staff, coaches, and student athletes to align with department and school’s policies Provide supervision/support of additional direct reports including Athletic Assistant and outside Athletic Trainer Communicate schedule w/Leadership Team Communicate schedule w/Facilities crew Collaborate w/Academic Counselor for academic eligibility throughout seasons Collaborate w/school Counselor to support student mental health, well being Articulate athletic & activity needs (personnel, financial, and facilities) Manage Athletic and Activities department budget Serve as member of leadership team Meet weekly w/administrative leadership team to make important governance decisions for school Perform other duties as assigned by principal GENERAL: Athletic Director will be responsible for all athletic and activity programs. Will not be available to coach or sponsor a specific program Maintain confidential information professionally; seek teacher and administrative guidance as needed Demonstrate support for mission of Fr. Tolton Catholic High School by attitude, words, actions, and integrity Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, in adherence to the Student Handbook Serve with parents, faculty, and student groups, as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives Qualification: - Minimum - bachelor’s degree, master's degree preferred - Experience as head coach required - 3-5 years or more of successful athletic program administration preferred - Appreciation and support of multi-sport/activity students and support of programs at all levels - Experience working w/and supervising student groups - Understanding of and commitment to the school’s mission to help students grow in Spirit, Heart, Mind, and Body - Familiarity w/Google Suite (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc), Google Classroom, and RenWeb/FACTS is preferred - An understanding of high school education culture - Ability to interact professionally w/students, sponsors, directors, coaches, faculty, and parents - Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations and be a role model for appropriate performance expectations and behavioral boundaries for students, coaches, faculty, and parents Physical Demands and other requirements: - Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks i.e computer keyboarding, writing, and reading - Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise and activity - Required to maintain composure and to communicate appropriately in words and actions
