Description:  MARSHALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS Missouri Options Job Opportunity December, 2021 Marshall Public Schools is seeking a student-centered professional to provide instruction and support to students who must recover the credits necessary to graduate with a diploma. The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic and positive attitude, exhibit high expectations for student and adult performance, possess a growth mindset, value teamwork, and be committed to both Marshall Public Schools and the City of Marshall. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree in education and/or teaching. Successful adult teaching and learning experience preferred. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is on a school-year contracted position, to coincide with the BOE approved MPS school year calendar. Salary will be based on experience and education level, as shown on the 2022 - 2023 (and subsequent years) MPS Teacher Salary Schedule. Candidate must be able to complete provide a clean background check. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement curriculum-based instruction. • Provide instruction to students. • Create a data monitoring system to track student progress toward completion of curriculum standards. • Create and implement a classroom disciplinary plan. • Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees. • Participate in professional development activities. • Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline. • Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner. • Communicate regularly with appropriate contacts, such as parents or students themselves regarding progress and other educational concerns. • Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassments as directed by Board policy. • Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher. • Attend established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings). • Perform related work as required.
