| Description: | Knob Noster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, focused, and visionary prior service Air Force Non Commissioned Officer with a minimum of 15 years served on Active Duty to serve as an additional Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Aerospace Science Instructor, for MO-20052, TRIAD AFROTC, comprised of 130 high performing cadets from four local high schools for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. POSITION: Additional Aerospace Science Instructor for the 2021-2022 School Year REPORTS TO: Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (Department Head) and Building Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month contract, pay based on qualifications and experience, stipend for co-curricular activities, health insurance (employee) provided QUALIFICATIONS: Retired Senior Non-commissioned Officer (SNCO) with 20 or more years experience in the Air Force (Active Duty) desired. Previous leadership (supervisory) experience, at least 15 years active duty and Bachelor's Degree required. Extensive knowledge of classroom management and instruction, physical training, drill and ceremonies, and possesses a Master’s Degree, Missouri Teacher’s certification, Commercial Driver’s License (School Bus Endorsement) are all highly desired. JOB GOAL: The Mission of the AFJROTC program: “Develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.” The Vision of MO-20052 AFJROTC: “Every cadet has the opportunity to achieve his/her fullest potential and participate in and contribute to all aspects of the TRIAD AFJROTC Cadet Corps”. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must dynamically instruct the Leadership Education and Aerospace Science portion of the AFJROTC Curriculum. Includes drill/ceremonies, leadership/management, career assessment/development, life/communication skills, science of flight and space exploration. Develops and implements meaningful assessments of students' understanding of presented material and their growth as future leaders. Provides individualized and effective career and performance counseling for cadets. Leads and supervises numerous cadet corps co-curricular (before/after school) activities with the intent of providing knowledge and growth opportunities for all cadets. Must demonstrate, instruct and manage a high degree of physical fitness and conditioning exercises designed to improve cadet health and wellness. Must display Air Force Corps Values of Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellent in all you do. Must exemplify a positive image of the Air Force at all times Conduct yourself in a highly professional manner, in both words and actions. Must demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence and compassionate human relations and communication skills. Must comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies. Must fulfill all other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Working Conditions: Maintain emotional control under stress. Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job. Frequent district, inter/intra-state travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun, heat and cold. Appropriate daily civilian attire with unit polo/shirt/jacket expected.
