| Description: | Knob Noster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Special Education Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. POSITION: Special Education Teacher for the 20-21 School Year REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Director of Student Services TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher contract QUALIFICATIONS: Missouri certification in Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical or other special education certification JOB GOAL: To provide specialized instruction and coordination of special education services for individual students with disabilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serves as a case manager in the development and implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities Provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities both in the regular education classroom and in separate special education classes or settings Communicates with regular education teachers and principals regarding the educational needs and programs of students with disabilities Collaborates with the school team in implementing effective specialized teaching and behavioral strategies for students with disabilities Maintains records regarding individual student progress toward IEP goals and objectives, services and accommodations provided, parent contacts, notices and other documentation as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) regulations, the Director of Student Services or the school principal Participates in student eligibility evaluations and re-evaluations Initiates communication with parents of students with disabilities on a regular basis Uses technology effectively to implement instruction and to manage documentation requirements Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies Other duties/responsibilities deemed necessary may be assigned Interested, qualified candidates should apply online at www.knobnoster.k12.mo.us.
