| Description: | Knob Noster Public Schools is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Special Education Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. POSITION: Process Coordinator for the 20-21 School Year REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher contract plus 5 additional days JOB GOAL: To coordinate special education services for individual students with disabilities and ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a minimum of: Degree in Education or related area Two years successful special education teaching or related experience Certification in Special Education or related area A graduate degree Ability to administer standardized assessments including cognitive assessments Ability to interpret standardized assessments Detailed understanding of the special education process Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Demonstrated ability to get along well with others and handle confidential matters Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines Ability to transport daily via personal transportation to various District sites ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist with compliance of local, state and federal requirements for the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Coordinate transition from Part C (First Steps) to Part B (ECSE) services Coordinate with outside agencies to ensure transition services are addressed Complete transfer paperwork for incoming special service students Coordinate and complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations Administer, score and interpret standardized assessments Assist site staff in writing, reviewing, and presenting Individual Education Plans Assist site staff in organizing and providing special education and related services in compliance with Federal/State/District regulations Assist in conducting professional development activities for special education and related staff Uses technology effectively to manage documentation requirements Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Student Services Interested, qualified candidates should apply online at www.knobnoster.k12.mo.us.
