| Description: | The Knob Noster School District is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) for the 2016-2017 school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate diverse professional knowledge, a vision of excellence, a student-centered focus, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. The TVI’s primary responsibility is to provide specialized instruction and services required to meet the unique educational needs of visually impaired students. The TVI will be expected to assist with interpreting the visually impaired students’ specific eye condition, the educational implications of the visual impairment, and the results of assessments. Consultation with general education teachers, special education teachers, parents and others participating in the programming and services for the students being served will be required. The TVI will assist instructors and the students to assure that appropriate mediums are provided for the students. The TVI will be expected to be able to read and teach braille as well as appropriate use of assistive technology devices and tools needed by the visually impaired students. The TVI will be expected to incorporate the Expanded Core Curriculum into the students’ programming.
