Our Online Teachers are bright, innovative, highly effective, and passionate about facilitating the online learning and education of ALVS students. Our ALVS Teachers are remotely based, part-time, and state certified with a successful track record in teaching this is a great, professional job for educators who desire a flexible schedule. WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR ONLINE TEACHERS WITH UP-TO-DATE CERTIFICATION IN ONE (OR MORE) OF THE FOLLOWING STATES: - ILLINOIS - MARYLAND - MICHIGAN - MISSOURI - PENNSYLVANIA - SOUTH DAKOTA - VIRGINIA POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Provides instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Grades student work, conducts office hours, and provides other instructional support to students in adherence with the policies and procedures of the Apex Learning Virtual School. Provides ongoing motivation, coaching and other support to students of all academic abilities. Maintains an online learning environment which is safe and conducive to learning. Establishes an online environment of mutual respect and professionalism where students are encourages and support to be actively engaged in the learning process. Maintains an open line of communication with parents/guardians/school district mentors and personnel and seeks mentor and parental involvement when necessary. Maintains timely records of student performance. Maintains a current Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) with annual goals per ALHS guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS Fifth year college or university program certificate required. Current Secondary Teaching certification required in one of the states listed above, multi-state certification highly desired. 5 years teaching experience. Ability to adhere to the professional teaching obligations as assigned by supervisor, including meeting deadlines, course schedules, and maintenance of teacher certification. Willingness to engage in professional growth activities through ALVS or externally, for job-related knowledge and skill development. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and other professionals. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. Ability to pass a Social Security Administration E-Verify check for U.S. work authorization.
