| Description: | Rolla 31 School District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Building Trades Teacher for our Career & Technical Center. As a Building Trades Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing students for successful careers in the construction and building trades industry. This position provides an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about both teaching and hands-on learning experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES: Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with industry standards and prepares students for careers in building trades. Instruction: Provide effective and engaging instruction in various aspects of building trades, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and safety protocols. Hands-on Training: Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, ensuring students acquire practical skills through real-world projects and simulations. Safety Protocols: Emphasize and enforce safety protocols in the workshop, ensuring a secure learning environment for all students. Industry Connections: Foster partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and trade associations to enhance students' exposure to real-world practices and job opportunities. Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic and skill development. Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and advancements, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development to enhance teaching practices. Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must submit a joint application verifying contracted employment from a Missouri educational institution; and one of the following qualifications: -Verification of a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years; or -Verification of an associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years; or -No degree and verification of six thousand (6,000) hours of Department-approved, closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. -Must possess and maintain proper Missouri teaching certificate for the area/content to which he or she has been assigned. -Complete original transcript of college hours must be placed on file in the superintendent’s office before the beginning of the school year for which the teacher has been hired. -Any additional hours of credit earned while the teacher is under contract should also be filed in the same manner. -Must be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with colleagues, analyze student data, and make necessary instructional interventions for student growth that are based on data and best practices in education. -Pass all background checks and screenings.
