| Description: | The School District of Cape Girardeau is seeking a motivated full-time Special Education teacher for the 2023-24 academic year. Locations: Central High School and Central Academy Under the general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services, the teacher will be responsible for creating a program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth of pupils developmentally delayed. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in Mild/Moderate: Cross Categorical, K-12. Excellent oral and written communication skills Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students Demonstrate skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets and databases Experience in formative assessments, cooperative learning techniques, and data analysis Demonstrate the ability to work with diverse and multicultural populations Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities Experience in formative assessments, cooperative learning techniques, and data analysis Prior experience working with special needs children General Information: To apply for this position, you must register online at www.capetigers.com (Careers).
