| Description: | The Diamond, MO School District is currently accepting applications for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in the area of Early Childhood, Elementary or Secondary Education with an ESOL Certificate. Expectations: To provide instructional support to English Learners and teachers so that English Learners may receive an equitable education within our rigorous curriculum. Implement research-based strategies for English Learners. Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning; climate of respect and fairness. Administer WIDA assessments. Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English to English Learners. Teach academic vocabulary to English Learners. Evaluate, select, and prepare class materials based on test scores and student needs. Maintain records of students’ progress in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. Provide strategies to classroom teachers with English Learners in their classrooms. Collaborate with classroom teachers to maximize learning opportunities for English Learners. Communicate with parents at parent-teacher conferences. Participate in professional development to enhance instructional skills. Participate in training on administering MAP, ACCESS, W-APT, and WIDA Model. Maintain all appropriate records. | |
