Description:  NOTICE OF PRINCIPAL VACANCY The Hamilton R-II Board of Education is seeking candidates for the position of Penney High School (9-12) Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Located in Hamilton, Missouri, the district serves approximately 615 students in grades PK-12 (approximately 185 students in grades 9-12). Closing date for receiving applications May 6, 2024 Screening & Interview dates March 7-13, 2024 Selection of Principal May 13, 2024 Approval of Principal May 16, 2024 Employment contract year begins July 1, 2024 QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Missouri Principal Certificate by July 1, 2024. Successful completion of a background check as determined by Hamilton School District is a prerequisite for the position. EXPERIENCE Candidates must have had a minimum of 3 years of successful secondary teaching experience. Successful school administration and supervision experience is desired. PROFESSIONAL STRENGTHS Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with the Board of Education, and Superintendent. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with teachers and support staff. Ability to maintain a positive school environment focusing on the well-being of students and staff. Ability to provide professional educational leadership. Ability to select, assign, support and evaluate staff. Ability to secure and maintain desired student behavioral patterns. Ability to delegate authority yet maintain accountability. Ability to maintain strong communication skills with students, staff and community. Ability to promote and revise curriculum. Ability to effectively use computers, including apps and software such as Google Suites apps, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of effective high school course instruction is preferred. HAMILTON R-II SCHOOL DISTRICT INFORMATION FOR PRINCIPAL CANDIDATES This is a 12 month position with employment beginning on July 1, 2024. Salary and benefits are commensurate with the Hamilton R-II Administrative Salary Schedule.
