Job Title:  District SIS/Core Data Coordinator

Description:  Macon County R-1 School District is accepting applications for District Student Information Systems/Core Data Coordinator. OVERVIEW As the District Student Information Systems/Core Data Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the seamless implementation and integration of our new student information system (SIS) while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Core Data essentials for effective operations within our district. Your role is critical in ensuring that it is smooth, efficient, and meets the needs of all staff with the ability to acquire required Core Data reporting and accurate submissions to DESE. QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in system integration, data management, or related roles, preferably in the education sector. Strong technical skills with proficiency in database management systems, data analysis tools and integration technology and software implementation. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of student information systems (e.g., Tyler, Infinite Campus) is a plus. Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g. FERPA) and best practices for data security and confidentiality. High School Diploma or equivalent Excellent computer skills Excellent communication skills Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning skills Ability to work with others on multiple tasks/projects and complete assignments with specified deadlines ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Coordinates the compilation and submission of student and district data to DESE through the Core Data and MOSIS collection system. Maintains information to complete timely state reporting through MOSIS to ensure proper levels of state and federal funding based on Core Data submissions. Research and remains up to date with changes and new developments in state reporting. Reports changes in DESE rules to district administrators, principals, and staff. Supervises and trains building-level staff to ensure SIS data is entered correctly and in a timely manner for state reporting. Provides ongoing SIS training and assistance to all staff. Works with administrators and other staff related to Core Data/MOSIS/SIS. Determines causes of error messages and state level violations within MOSIS and SIS data and corrects them accordingly. Provides data and reports for various departments, schools, and outside agencies. Maintains District and Site code tables, course offerings, calendar, and staff information in SIS. Participates in professional development regarding Core Data/MOSIS. This position also serves as our Central Office receptionist located at the front desk in the Administration Building. Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all activities related to the implementation of the new SIS with existing systems, applications and databases. Maintain project plans and timelines for the SIS integration project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and staff to ensure and progress and correct entries of all required data. Oversee the migration of data from the legacy system to the new SIS, ensuring data integrity and security. System Integration: Collaborate with third-party vendors to develop integration strategies and implement technical solutions to gather required data. Conduct thorough testing of integration points to ensure data accuracy, functionality, and interoperability between software products used by the district. Troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues in a timely manner. Staff Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for training staff to ensure SIS data is entered correctly in the SIS system for state reporting. Communicates regularly with staff to provide updates, gather feedback, and address concerns. Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure staff are proficient in using the new SIS. Data Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating state reporting requirements for submission of district data to DESE through Core Data and MOSIS collection system. Research and remains up to date with changes and new developments in state reporting. Maintain data standards, policies and procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Change Management: Develop change management plans to support the adoption of the new SIS for staff. Provide guidance and support to staff throughout the change process, addressing resistance and fostering acceptance. Quality Assurance: Establish quality assurance processes to evaluate the performance and reliability of the new SIS. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhancement of data management practices to improve efficiency and accuracy. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in SIS integration and data management to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Perform regular audits and validation checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies or inconsistencies Terms of Employment: Hourly rate, 260 days. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
