Description:  SAIL Program Director CLASSIFICATION: Administration, Management, Professionals DEPARTMENT: Academic Affairs REPORTS TO: Dean of Instruction FLSA STATUS: Exempt CONTRACT TERMS: Full-Time, 12-month LOCATION: Trenton, Missouri-Main Campus Position Summary: The SAIL Program (Students Accessing Individualized Learning) is a post-secondary educational program providing academic support and employable skill development for students with neurodivergent conditions involving intellectual and developmental disabilities. The SAIL Program Director is responsible for the overall operations of the SAIL program and providing services for students in the program, in accordance with Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to • Establish and maintain SAIL Program goals and outcomes while using assessment strategies for continuous improvement • Oversee the daily operation of the SAIL Program while ensuring a safe and effective learning environment • Develop and manage the admissions process for accepting program applicants • Foster and maintain working relationships with area agencies, state agencies, schools, employers to increase awareness of the SAIL Program and enhance services for program participants • Coordinate with the Marketing Department to develop a marketing plan and promotional items • Serve as the lead recruiter for the SAIL Program while handling inquiries for prospective students • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for integration into campus and community activities • Develop and maintain internship opportunities for program participants • Plan, coordinate, and lead activities relating to employable skill development and academic reinforcement • Advise program participants in course enrollment and degree or certificate planning processes • Advocate for students with disabilities and assist students in obtaining and using appropriate accommodations • Collaborate with the Campus Counselor/Accessibility Services officer to support program participants • Coordinate and provide academic tutoring to program participants • Serve as a liaison between faculty and program participants and a member of the academic services team • Serve as primary contact in order to support the safety and wellbeing of program participants • Maintain record keeping for program participants while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with FERPA • Manage program budget and spending allocations • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and fulfill reporting obligations as required by the Clery Act. • Attend meetings and college functions as required. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree required in education, counseling, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Three to five years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities. Knowledge in specialized instructional methodologies for different learning styles, accommodations and adaptations required in a classroom, and an understanding on how to support a student with a disability in an academic setting and a worksite, and managing action plans for positive change. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Prior budget management skills. Ability to gather and analyze data and to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports. Skills: Proficient in MS Office. Proven organizational, analytical and time management skills. Ability to build relationships and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Excellent decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing; able to do repetitive tasks; remain stationary at a desk while typing and answering phones. Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while moving on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.
