| Description: | Macon R-1 School District is seeking a MS/HS Vocal Music Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Extra Duty positions may be available when filling secondary positions. QUALIFICATIONS Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate Positive interpersonal relationship skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applications ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies. Participates in curriculum review and design. Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan. Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction. Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly. Participates in building, grade level and/or subject area committees. Participates in professional development activities. Maintains accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline. Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner. Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns. Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassments as directed by Board policy. Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher. Attends established traditional school-sponsored events (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings). Coordination of the high school musical. Assumes other duties as assigned. Terms of Employment: Nine month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent. | |
