Description:  The Glenwood R-8 School District in West Plains, MO is seeking applicants for a Special Education Teacher position for the 2024-25 school year. This will be grades K-4. Qualified candidates will need to possess the ability to provide quality, engaging instruction and learning opportunities for students based on their individualized education plans and grade-level standards. Knowledge of the special education and IEP process is preferred, however training on the process can be provided. Candidates should have or be able to obtain appropriate certification prior to employment. This position is open until filled. Glenwood does participate in career ladder. Other Information:  Responsibilities of a Special Education Teacher

Services:
Provide services as listed on the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
Coordinate and provide information to paraprofessionals on how to provide services/ instruction to either individual students or small groups.
Monitor and document students’ progress based on annual goals noted in IEPs at least twice each quarter.

IEPs:
Write annual IEPs and any necessary amendments.
Schedule meetings for annual IEP meetings and adhere to timelines
Communicate with related service providers at least 20 days before meetings to receive updated goals, etc.

Communication:
Share pertinent information such as accommodations/modifications (Form F’s), behavior improvement plans (BIPs), etc., with staff.
Attend evaluation meetings and provide feedback on students’ abilities.
