Description:  Rolla Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified elementary special education teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. As an elementary special education teacher, you will create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs, and collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure the success of every student. Responsibilities: -Plan, implement, and assess individualized educational programs for students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). -Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to a meaningful and challenging curriculum. -Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development. -Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to provide students with a cohesive and integrated educational experience. -Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. -Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, goals, and strategies for support. -Collaborate with special education and general education teams to participate in developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs. -Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience for students with special needs. -Attend professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education. -Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and respects each student's unique strengths. Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). -Valid state teaching certification in Special Education. -Experience working with elementary-aged students with a variety of disabilities. -Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills. -Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of students with special needs. -Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. -Experience with behavior management strategies and positive behavior support. -Technological proficiency, including the ability to integrate assistive technology into the classroom. -Commitment to ongoing professional development.
