| Description: | La Plata R-II has an opening for the 24-25 school year for a Bookkeeper/ Board Secretary/ Superintendent’s secretary. The position is full time and would undergo some training with the current occupant of the position before beginning on July 1, 2024. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Administrative - respond to and direct communications and correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and faxes for the superintendent of schools. Payroll - All reports associated with payroll, including; retirement, taxes, 403b, insurance, garnishments Accounts payable - pay all bills associated with the school district, create and direct purchase orders, invoices, and receipts Accounts receivable - make all deposits and run reports Core Data/ MOSIS - Manage and direct reports due to DESE for all submission periods ASBR (Annual Secretary of the Board Report) - Oversee the ASBR process for the district Yearly Audit - work with the superintendent to complete the audit process, including posting and reporting Board secretary - attend board meetings and take minutes, completing and filing afterwards Food service - File food service claims on a monthly basis and oversee the accounts for purchasing food items, approve free/reduced lunch forms All other duties as assigned by the superintendent Human resources - processes employment records and forms, handles worker’s compensation claims La Plata R-II operates on a 4-day school week and offers a suite of benefits, including full health insurance, life insurance, and PTO.
