| Description: | HIGH SCHOOL/DUAL CREDIT SPANISH TEACHER NCA is a Christian College Preparatory School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian college preparatory school committed to achieving Academic Excellence, teaching Biblical Truth, and developing Christ-like character" New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates, for a part-time High School/Dual Credit Spanish III & IV Teacher in collaboration with Missouri State University (employment agreement renewable annually pending board approval). Hours are during the general school day per the division the teacher is working in, beginning in August 2024 to May 2025 and will work at the Warrior Campus location 3304 S. Cox Ave., Springfield, MO. JOB SUMMARY: The role of the teacher is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible Christian men and women. The teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum, and plan and implement a course of study to meet the individual needs of students, prepare and submit lesson plans, and assess student progress while demonstrating their own mastery of the subject matter taught and a strong command of the Spanish language. The teacher must also communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration and faculty for the success of each student. TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must have a valid Missouri (or from another state within the U.S.) Teaching Certificate and hold appropriate endorsement in the areas of instruction with a minimum of a Master’s degree in any field, and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish and/or credit hours in language acquisition. Preferred candidates will fall in an acceptable proficiency score range (advanced low or higher) on the (OPI-Oral Proficiency Interview, based on the ACTFL-American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, used by many universities to assess foreign language oral speaking competency). Furthermore candidates must have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith, and must demonstrate evidence of a regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ, and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school. BENEFITS & COMPENSATION: Salary base for this full-time position with the minimum credential requirement of a Master’s degree is $40,297. An additional stipend is paid by MSU to the teacher. Benefits for the full-time teacher include medical insurance for the employee, with NCA paying for a majority of the premium.
