Position Title Special Education Teacher Qualifications Teacher certification within the subject-area Reports to Building-level Administrators Terms of Employment Teacher contract PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide core program for special education students consistent with state statutes and federal law. Work cooperatively with classroom teachers who have special education students in classes; interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the staff, and assisting the students with regular class assignments. Confer frequently with parents and professional staff regarding the educational, social, and personal goals of special education students. Assist in screening, evaluating, and recommending placements of students in the special education program. Completes all steps of the IEP process. | |
