| Description: | The Excelsior Springs School District is accepting applications for a school counselor. POSITION TITLE: Counselor F.L.S.A. Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Counseling and Missouri School Counseling Certificate REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor DESCRIPTION: The secondary school counselor implements the MissourI Comprehensive Guidance Program, focusing on the four primary strands: Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, and System Support. More specifically, activities within these strands include: providing support to the instructional process with responsibility for helping students develop career/life goals; support student academic achievement; provide individual and group counseling to students; providing support during a crisis; work with community agencies; and partner with parents, teachers, support staff and the community. Please note to complete the application process you will be required to also complete the Teacher EPI Assessment. Applicants who do not complete this Assessment will not be considered for the position.
