| Description: | The Van Buren R-1 School district is searching for an experienced School Nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. Responsible for the management and coordination of health services, the School Nurse provides medical care to students, administers medications, maintains student health records, provides health education training to staff, and promotes physical and mental wellness within the school community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide on-site emergency and general healthcare to students. Serve as liaison between school personnel, families, healthcare providers and health departments. Maintain confidential student medical records, including immunizations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements. Provide daily care for students with diabetes, allergies, asthma. Administer medications, treat minor injuries, and apply first aid. Conduct annual training for faculty and staff including CPR, Epi-Pen and Glucagon training. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license to practice as a professional registered nurse in Missouri. BSN preferred. CPR/AED certification Experience working with children. Strong written and verbal communication skills. | |
