Description:  The Mexico Public School District seeks a dedicated leader to serve as the Activities Director/HS Assistant Principal for the 2021-2022 school year. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with strong leadership skills and be dedicated to helping students grow and be successful in all programs and academics. The candidate must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and be willing to work with others in the community to promote and improve the overall co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience Minimum 3 years of successful High School level coaching Master’s Degree or higher in Educational Administration Valid Missouri Teaching and Administration Certification Prior Administration Experience-Preferred Reports To: High School Principal and Superintendent Terms of Employment: Eleven months including benefits according to Board policies Job Functions: Organize and supervise all Mexico High School co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, programs and events. Organize and ensure supervision of all sponsored activities and events. Prepare a master activities calendar of games, performances and events. Ensure the proper maintenance and security of all athletic equipment, athletic facilities and fields as well as facilities and equipment for all activities and performances. Assure timely and professional execution of all activities initiatives and directives. Determine and assure execution of guidelines for communication between staff, educators, coaches, parents and students. Assure the excellence, consistency and professional development of MPS coaches and educators through an effective evaluation and growth program. Provides strong and positive leadership in organizing, developing and administering the activities program(s). Promotes a positive culture for the school and activities program(s). Provides leadership in developing the necessary climate for change and growth within the school and activities programs. Ensures all state statutes, board of education policies, administrative practices and procedures, as well as employee handbook are complied with. Promote all events and activities within the community as well as act as the liaison between the school and community. Supervises teaching staff and programs in accordance with building and district philosophy. Responsible to ensure that facility, staff and educators are following proper ethical standards and performing their responsibilities with integrity; holds those who fall short accountable. Provides for effective and efficient day-to-day operation of school facilities that are conducive to a positive learning environment. Supervises students. Supervises all professional, paraprofessional and support personnel attached to the school. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to due process rights of students. Demonstrates effective organizational skills and completes duties promptly and accurately. Establishes and maintains effective discipline in the program/school and promotes a positive school climate. Demonstrates knowledge of finance and budget within the specific area(s) of authority and discharges the responsibility for making expenditures in accordance with the operational philosophy of the Board of Education. Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Develops and follows a plan of self-improvement which promotes both personal and organizational goals. Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress, and appropriate professional manner for the work setting. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. Adheres to effective safety practices. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
