| Description: | The Chilhowee R-IV School District is seeking a highly qualified K-12 Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Chilhowee R-IV was awarded a half-million dollar grant titled the Carol M. White PEP Grant from 2012 to 2015. This federal grant provided funds to improve and build a high quality PE program. The PE department inventory has more supplies than even an extremely creative PE teacher could utilize in one school year. Some examples: Heart rate monitors, pedometers, disc golf drivers, chippers, and putters, portable disc golf baskets to create a 9 hole course, rackets for badminton, tennis, pickle ball, & ping pong, various net structures for all racket/volley games, throwing machines/guns for tennis, volleyball, basketball, football, driving range mats for golf, dance revolution system/dance pads, Mathews/Genesis archery equipment/bows, Ping Pong Tables, cup stacking sets, Multiple games created by Gopher, USGames, and Skillastics focused on nutrition, food groups, and skill specific activities, an area connected to the gym with treadmills, elipticals, and 3 active gaming stations including 60 inch smart TVs. This only skims the surface. We are looking for the right person to join our team and utilize our resources to create the best small school PE program in the state. Coaching availability exists in head high school boys' basketball , assistant football, head JH boys' basketball, and track. Chilhowee R-IV offers 1:1 technology and promotes a culture of family, team, and unity. The Chilhowee District is located in South Central Johnson County on highway 2 approximately 15 to 20 miles from Warrensburg, Clinton, Holden, and Knob Noster, and 40 minutes from Lee’s Summit. The successful candidate will need appropriate certification for both K-12 PE and Health, a background check, and the necessary documents listed below.
