| Description: | Pettis County R-V School District (Northwest) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Art teacher for grades K-12, for the 2026-2027 academic year. Pettis County R-V School District is a supportive and family-oriented community offering a 4-day week school schedule, with approximately 320 students in grades PreK-12. The district also allows incoming staff members to bring in all years of experience. This position is for Elementary and High School Art in a district known for its minimal turnover and strong, team-like culture. Coaching/Sponsor opportunities could also be available. Position Overview: The K–12 Art Teacher will lead and develop the district’s visual arts program for students at the elementary and secondary levels. This position plays an important role in fostering students’ creativity, artistic skills, problem-solving abilities, and appreciation for the arts. The Art Teacher works closely with students, staff, and families to provide high-quality art instruction while contributing to a positive, team-oriented school culture. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging art instruction at the elementary and secondary levels. Develop and maintain a strong visual arts program that supports student growth, creativity, and artistic expression. Teach a variety of art techniques and media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media appropriate to each grade level. Prepare and display student artwork for school and community exhibitions and events. Manage daily classroom routines in a structured and supportive environment. Maintain and inventory art supplies, equipment, and materials. Support student participation in art-related extracurricular activities or contests, as appropriate. Supervise students and ensure a safe, positive learning environment. Qualifications: Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Art (or the ability to obtain certification). Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and instructional practices. Ability to work effectively with students across multiple grade levels. Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. Commitment to building positive relationships with students, staff, and the school community. | |
