Description:  An elementary instructional coach is a mentor and expert educator who partners with preK-5 teachers to improve teaching practices, implement district initiatives, align lessons with state curriculum, and boost student learning through personalized support, modeling lessons, co-teaching, providing feedback, and leading professional development focused on research-based strategies. They act as a liaison between teachers and administrators, helping refine instruction, analyze student data, and foster a culture of continuous growth to ensure better student outcomes in a non-evaluative role. Essential Skills & Qualifications: ● Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, required ● Master’s degree in Elementary Education or similar, required ● A minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience is required. ● Teaching experience in multiple grade levels PreK-5, preferred ● Candidates with an interest in educational leadership who either possess or are working towards an administrative degree are preferred. Key Roles & Responsibilities: ● Professional Development: Oversee and deliver training on new techniques, technology, and curriculum. ● Classroom Support: Work directly in classrooms by modeling lessons, co-teaching, and observing to offer constructive feedback. ● Curriculum Implementation: Help teachers align their lessons with Missouri Learning standards and effectively deliver the curriculum. ● Data Analysis: Assist teachers in using student assessment data to identify needs and adjust instruction. ● Mentorship: Build strong, trusting relationships with teachers to support their professional growth. Serve as the lead contact for the District New Teacher Mentor program. ● Resource Provider: Offer instructional materials, technology support, and best practices. ● Instructional Leadership & Research: Engages in ongoing professional learning by monitoring current educational research, data, and instructional trends to inform coaching practices, support district initiatives, and improve student outcomes.
