| Description: | Norborne R-VIII School District has an opening for a 6-12 Grade Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The special education teacher will provide instruction and case management services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role includes collaborating with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations, modifications, and instruction to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. Responsibilities Include: Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students in grades 612. Provide direct instruction in resource and/or co-teaching settings. Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and support student success. Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs. Support positive student behavior through proactive strategies and interventions. Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Special Education. Valid Missouri teaching certification in Special Education (grades 612 or equivalent). Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to building positive relationships in a small school community.
