Description:  LPN required RN preferred Ozark High School has an opening for the 2022-23 school year for a Health Sciences Instructor who wishes to help prepare students for a career in the healthcare industry. This full-time position will be responsible for teaching Health Science I and II, dual credit Medical Terminology, and Project Lead the Way Principles of Biomedical Science. Qualifications: Required: Must hold a current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Missouri - Registered Nurse. Minimum of 2-4 years nursing experience, or Pursue Missouri teaching certificate, if needed CPR and First Aid Instructor Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing. Certified CNA instructor Missouri Career Teaching Certificate The Health Services Instructor has primary responsibility for instructing students in the two-year Health Sciences program. The first year is an exploratory health science course with internships in several areas. The second year focuses on the CNA course work with additional internships. The instructor is responsible for the supervision of the Health Sciences program in accordance with the minimum standards for accreditation as set forth by the State Board of Nursing. The instructor should maintain ongoing, systematic development, implementation, and evaluation of the Health Sciences program. Additional responsibilities: Provide classroom instruction and clinical supervision as needed. Evaluate and counsel students to facilitate optimal utilization of the learning opportunities within the program. Maintain up-to-date contracts with all outside facilities. Work closely with the personnel of participating health care agencies to provide appropriate clinical experiences for the students. Serve on the advisory committee for Health Sciences, help select members, and maintain minutes of the meetings. Maintain and insure confidentiality of student records as needed for selection, guidance, counseling, evaluation, and program follow-up. Participate in professional organizations and maintain teacher certification, as well as clinical and educational competency in areas of instructional responsibility. Assume such other responsibilities as required by supervisor.
