Job Title:  Kindergarten Teacher
Job Vacancy Description:  Elementary
Description:  Thank you so much for your interest in Kinetic Bridges’ teaching position. KB Academy is a private Christian hybrid school. Our school focuses on teaching the principles of Relentless Optimism, Joyful Collaboration, and Creative Focus through a Christian worldview. In order to know and understand our students well, there will be no more than 14 students in a class at a time. At KB Academy we support students with a wide range of learning needs. To empower teachers to meet students’ needs, we have an A.I.M. Plan coordinator (Academic Individual Modification Plan). The A.I.M. Coordinator will assist teachers with making modifications or accommodations for students that need a little more support during their educational journey. To further support our teachers and students, we have a dedicated student break room/sensory room. Students have access to the room throughout the day and can utilize the tools inside. Our goal with the sensory room (called the Kick Back Kave) is to normalize the need for breaks/sensory input and acknowledge that we ALL use tools (whether it be coffee to wake up in the morning, a pencil to write our name, or a balance ball to get our wiggles out). Teachers are also encouraged to utilize the Kick Back Kave to demonstrate that even adults need breaks/sensory outlets! :) Also on staff, we have a Director of Operations, Director of Education, Director of Development, Counselor and Secretary/Nurse. We deeply believe in providing many avenues of support for our teachers!
Other Information:  KB Academy is a hybrid program where students attend seated classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Teachers are required to be in school on Mondays, Wednesdays and their assigned rotation on Fridays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays teachers are required to be available to parents and students for questions/clarification during their specified office hours.

Teachers are responsible for planning, and preparing lessons Mondays/Wednesdays (in school learning), Tuesdays/Thursdays (for students to complete at home with parent support/involvement), and Fridays on a rotation. In addition to planning and preparing lessons, teachers grade student work, record grades in our online platform, make copies as needed, and attend/assist with our various fundraisers and community events.

Teachers are salaried with an average of 20 hours of work time per week. We have a week off at the end of each quarter, and an extra long Christmas break, which teachers are paid for!

To be successful at KB Academy, you need to possess a deep passion for reaching students, think creatively, be flexible and change course as needed, remain dedicated to the Mission and Vision of Kinetic Bridges, as well as, utilize strong classroom management and organizational skills. You also need to be willing to work from a team approach, problem-solving together and receive input from fellow staff and teachers with humility. We believe that we can, and should learn from each other.
